Juvenile Seoane’s viper (Vipera seoanei cantabrica) resetting its jaw after striking its prey. Even though this viper can be found a few kilometers across the western French border with Spain, it is considered an Iberian endemism. It is allegedly the most venemous snake in the Iberian Peninsula, with the depicted subspecies being at least twice as venemous as the nominal subspecies V. s. seoanei. ··· © 2015 Carlos Vermeersch
